Not far from the Tiger Temple is the Bridge on the River Kwai, but this is not really
the bridge in the movie, nor is it the real River Kwai. The real bridge was destroyed
in the war, but following the movie and the volume of farangs wanting to see the
Bridge on the River Kwai, some astute Thai officials saw a great opportunity, they
had another bridge that was built during the war, and they repaired the spans. The
stretch of river that it crossed they renamed to the River Kwai, and this bridge
became the Bridge on the River Kwai. A visitor centre was set up and many souvenirs
and other gifts are now available at this Bridge on the River Kwai.
Bridge on The River Kwai
Dream World, is the absolute stuff of kids! You won’t get out of here until they
are exhausted, and you know how long that takes! This is a big American-style theme
park with all the trimmings; Corkscrew, Bumping Cars, Swinging Viking Boat, Rollercoaster
– they are all there, and more besides.
You can take a boat trip along the river and visit the monkey sanctuary, the Big Buddha, and the Temple in the Hill, while you are there.
